Uncharted (Movie)
Uncharted
There’s two sides to this film. If you didn’t know, Uncharted is based off of the video game series of the same name. If you have played the games, this is a waste of time. If you haven’t played the games, this is a generic adventure movie. The only selling point for this was the Uncharted name and Tom Holland attached to it. And instead of acknowledging the characters from the games, they made them almost completely different characters. That’s disrespect. The only upside to this movie was the ok action sequences. Other than that, don’t waste your time with this one.
Good actors, wrong roles for the movie. Since there was already an idea of characters in my head, the acting here did not reflect that. Mark Wahlberg was fine, Tom Holland gives another performance that’s the same across most of his films. Not terrible, but not good either.
They were skipping a lot of corners here, constantly jumping from scene to scene, and they couldn’t stay in one place for very long at all. The places that they were in for short periods of time felt very restricted, unlike the video games. They also seemed to want to cram a lot of theses places to make up for at least three of the games. The ending was very disappointing as well.
This was very rare, in the case that this movie I could actually tell that this soundtrack did not match this film in my opinion. They tried to mix the classical and rock type style, but it does not fit with this movie, and it was actually distracting me from the movie. That’s how bad it was.
Even if you haven’t played the games, this is still a mediocre movie. Nothing really stands out. The action is fine at best. Easily forgettable.
